I thought a family blog should have good recipe.
Grapes for good health

FOOD FIX
Refreshing, nourishing andgor geous grapes are in season.
Rich in sugar, minerals andvi tamins, grapes are easily digestible.
Their juice acts as a stimulant tokid ney function and helps the body flush out toxins. Grapes mixed with honey make an excellent nerve tonic. Grape oil is extracted from grape seeds and used as salad oil. Drop in at yourclos est HOPCOMS outlet in the City, where the ‘Grape Mela’ is currently on, and head home with baskets of the luscious fruit.
Instant pickle
Ingredients : Seedless green grapes — 4 cups, Roasted methi seeds(pow dered) — 1 tsp, Red chilli powder — 1 1/2 tsp, Turmeric powder — 1/4 tsp, Powdered sugar — 2 tsp, Salt to taste, Lime juice — 2 tsp.
Seasoning : Oil — 2 tbsp, Mustard seeds — 1 tsp, Asafoetida — A pinch, Red chillies — 2.
Method : Wash and pat-dry the grapes; cut them or slit themvertical ly. Mix all the ingredients together and keep aside. Add the seasoning. Shake well and allow to soak for 2-3 hours.
This dish can be served with rotis or rice. Stored in the fridge, it lasts for 4 or 5 days.

An opportunity to grow

Someof us think; many of us think we think; but most of us never even think of thinking. To think wisely is to make life a process of growing. The art of wise parenting is to foster and empower children to deal with the dimension of growing and that is possible, if wise thinking is injected into children.
Life can be a process of growing or a process of aging.

Aging means Adding years to your life. Growing means Adding life to your years. It is very important for parents to teach children to add life to their years. I observe very few people are really growing. To grow up is very different from growing old.

Growth also involves cashing on difficult situations.

Reflect on this story. Twofrogs were on a long journey and were hungry.

They saw a huge pot, crept on it and found milk. They tried to drink the milk, but in the process slipped into the pot.

One frog gave up and died after a while. The other frog had the belief that winners never quit and quitters never win.

Hence, it continued its effort. In the process, slowly the milk turned into curd. Now it was relatively easy for the frog to take a leap and come out.

True growth involves overcoming obstacles and perceiving life not as a problem but as a challenge. What appears impossible to achieve at one point of time is possible if one were to put wise effort.

The greatest parents are those who do not lose their own child-like heart.

This is true and the Readers Digest article I read in Oct'09 issue was good.

I need these codes to decorate the blog.
What is BBCode?

BBCode, or Bulletin Board Code, is a popular yet simple markup language, much like basic HTML in the way that it helps you format text, for example making them bold, italicized or adding links, images etc. We’ve added support for BBCode as a replacement for our older “Custom Tags”.

Below is the list of all the tags we currently support:

bold text
italics text
underline text
<del>strikethrough text</del>
subscript text
superscript text

aligned text

text using Arial font

text in heading 1 style

– Till

; with

being the biggest and

the smallest.
We have to remember the following things, before we say that, we cannot give away anything.
It is always possible to give away:
1) Ourselves.
2) Our service.
3) Our time.
4) Four good words.
5) Our support
6) Pure love.

In the realm of mind, effortless-ness is the key. You cannot remember something through effort. The moment you relax, the memory comes back. Creativity, intelligence and memory - all these faculties within us happen effortlessly. However, in the realm of the body, you have to put in effort. You can build muscles only when you put effort.

Just look at yourself. Have you always agreed with yourself? You had some idea yesterday; today you may have a different idea. Five years back you had other ideas that do not necessarily agree with the ideas that you have today. So when you can have disagreement with yourself, why should it not happen with someone else?- sri sri RAVISHANKAR.
